At The Yakgona Brand, we want customers to understand clearly how cancellations, returns, damaged products and refunds are handled.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and applicable South African consumer-protection laws.
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible after placing it.
Where an order has not yet been processed, packed or dispatched, we will assess whether cancellation can still be accommodated.
Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation may instead need to be handled as a return, subject to applicable law and the conditions below.
Nothing in this policy limits cancellation rights that a consumer may have under applicable law.
Please contact us promptly if:
- You receive the incorrect product;
- Products arrive damaged or leaking;
- Items are missing from your order; or
- You believe a product supplied is defective.
Please provide your order number, a description of the problem and, where reasonably required, photographs showing the condition of the product or parcel.
We will assess the matter and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Returns are subject to applicable South African consumer law and the nature and condition of the product.
Products being returned should, where reasonably possible, be kept in their original packaging and should not be unnecessarily used, altered or damaged.
Different rules may apply where goods are defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise covered by statutory consumer protections.
Where a return is requested purely because the customer has changed their mind, acceptance of the return will depend on the circumstances, product type and any rights available under applicable law.
Where Yakgona voluntarily accepts a change-of-mind return beyond statutory requirements, the product may be required to be unopened, unused and in a resalable condition.
Applicable return or courier costs may be the customer's responsibility where permitted by law.
Once a return or cancellation has been approved, any refund due will be processed using an appropriate payment method.
Banking and payment-provider processing periods may affect how long it takes for the funds to reflect after a refund has been processed.
Any lawful deductions or delivery/return costs will be explained where applicable.
Product purchases made by members of the Yakgona Partner Growth Programme remain subject to applicable consumer law and any additional programme terms.
Registration, programme participation, commissions and qualification requirements may be governed separately from the purchase and return of physical products.
Any commissions linked to an order that is cancelled, refunded, reversed or found to be invalid may be recalculated in accordance with the applicable Partner Growth Programme terms.
Where products were purchased as part of a promotional bundle, discount or special offer, the value of any refund may take the original promotion into account where legally permitted.
If only part of a promotional bundle is returned, the remaining products may no longer qualify for the original promotional pricing.
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove, restrict or replace rights customers may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002, or other applicable South African legislation.
Where a statutory consumer right applies, that right will take precedence over any conflicting provision of this policy.
